Our next cohort for HR Essentials starts in February 2025, our cutting-edge HR Management Programme is aimed at equipping operational managers with skills in areas including essential employment law, performance management and discipline.

The suite of eight, three-hour workshops offer a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical exercises and actionable strategies to develop the skills of managers for the future.

7th February 2025

09:30 – 12:30: Essential Employment Law

  • Understand employment rights, employer responsibilities & compliance
  • Address absence, performance, illness & misconduct issues
  • Maintain consistency & minimise dispute risks

13:30 – 16:30: Managing Behaviour and Discipline

  • Address conduct issues fairly & informally when appropriate
  • Ensure fairness during disciplinary proceedings & manage grievances

21st February 2025

09:30 – 12:30: Building Motivation and Engagement

  • Foster a positive work environment & increase employee involvement
  • Recognise what motivates people
  • Understand how to use language & communication skills to build strong manager-employee relationships

13:30 – 16:30: Performance Management

  • Address underperformance & attitude problems
  • Develop performance plans, set objectives & conduct formal performance management
