Senior Strategic Apprenticeship Lead, Oxfordshire County Council

Oxfordshire county council first started working with ioda in late 2020. We had previously had 2 cohorts of management training apprenticeship programmes delivered by other providers which were unsatisfactory, so we really needed to get this right 3rd time lucky!

We selected ioda for many reasons but the deciding factor was that they specialised in management training, had a vast amount of experience in this area and tailored programmes to match our services.

We have been really impressed with how consultative they have been from the outset, they have worked in collaboration with us to tailor programmes, specifically our Fire Service where they have put together a Management programme that works seamlessly with their internal development programme so eliminates duplication.

To date we have enrolled 72 candidates on the L3 Team Leader, L5 Operations Departmental Manager and most recently we started our first cohort of L5 Coaching professional

Lisa and her team are always professional, friendly and consistently deliver a quality programme.  We regularly have positive feedback from participants about the support they have received from ioda and how much the programme has enabled them in their roles and their professional development.

''We have been working with ioda since 2022 who are delivering our L5 Coaching apprenticeships to our employees. Initially we engaged with ioda to support us with the apprenticeship which would also support our ambitions for our coaching community in the Department.

Since engaging with ioda, we have found Lisa and her team to be highly professional and helpful but also their vast experience and understanding of the programme has shone through. Apprentices and Line Managers are complimentary of the experience the apprentices are having and whilst it is still fairly early stages for many of our apprentices, we are seeing the ROI starting to show in the work the apprentices carry out.''

Head of Learning & Organisational Development, Bell Group

“Bell first engaged with ioda is Spring 2022 when the business was seeking a solution for a Team Leading qualification for staff across the business. I had an initial meeting with Lisa Reynolds, Head of Training and Operations at ioda which proved extremely positive and there was an immediate connection to our core values and business ethos, Bell being in a similar position of being a family owned and operated business.

There was genuine warmth in Lisa’s approach to understanding our training and development needs as well as the challenges of training staff through a work based learning route. Lisa and Helen Pickup presented a solution back to Bell that would perfectly fit our business needs which included a series of workshops that would work alongside the team leading programme and enhance the development of our administration team.

In September 2022 Bell rolled out a combined L3 Team leading Apprenticeship and CMI L3 pilot programme across the business administration management function. To date this have proved to be a fruitful exercise and one we hope will continue.

ioda's investment in people, coaching and support is enabling our learners to manage their learning and development goals and reach their potential. ioda have provided updates on learner progression through regular communication alongside an effective portfolio management system and this is what sets them apart from other providers”

'ioda have delivered our Level 3 and level 5 leadership and management training for several years now and we are extremely happy with both the service and the training that they provide. From the start of the partnership  they have been incredibly professional, friendly, collaborative and supportive. We have been really impressed with how they consultative they have been. From tailoring language and content of the course to match our organisation and advising us in the use of the levy to providing us with updates and progress data throughout the course. Over 60 of our colleagues have now undertaken the training and are delighted with content, delivery and coaching. We have been particularly happy with the results. A majority of our participants, not only complete but pass the course with distinctions. We also have had very positive feedback from participants about the support they have received from Ioda and how much the course has helped them in both in their roles and with their professional development.'

We have been working with the team ioda since 2022. ioda are delivering our L3 and L5 leadership and management apprenticeships. The team have been nothing but helpful and supportive, nothing is too much trouble. I really appreciate the fact that I am always able to speak to one of the team at short notice. The team have carried out mapping exercises for us, linking our own internal development programs to the apprenticeship standards. Thank you for your on-going commitment and support.

ioda delivered the council’s Future Leaders programme for our aspiring leaders of the future, via an apprenticeship, to 48 of our employees.  We’ve worked with ioda for a number of years and their passion and commitment to delivering quality learning and development programmes in innovative ways has always made them stand out from the crowd.  They work with us as a partner, not just as a training provider, and are responsive to feedback, continuously reviewing and improving things to make sure it’s absolutely right.  They helped us to navigate and understand the complex requirements of an apprenticeship standard and we were pleased that many of our employees completed the programme with either distinctions or merits. ioda recently won the contract to deliver Phase 2 of the Future Leaders programme and we’re pleased to be working with them again to deliver another successful apprenticeship programme.”

She then tailored a session to my department's needs and delivered it very effectively, so that the positive benefits were felt immediately. BA MCIPD, Equality & Inclusion Adviser, Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service has benefitted from ioda Ltd’s services for over 10 years. They regularly deliver training to our staff on professional behaviour and provide them with knowledge and skills to challenge behaviours that fall short of the Service’s standards. These courses have had excellent feedback and ioda have been happy to review and update the focus of the course objectives as required.   This has really helped us in our journey of continuously improving the organisation’s culture. When we wanted to hear from staff about behaviours in the workplace and knew this would be sensitive, ioda Ltd were able to help us with the research in a completely confidential way that built trust with our staff contributors.

Lisa is very knowledgeable, supportive and relatable. I felt able to express my concerns to her and be confident I would get help and guidance. Lisa is clearly very passionate about helping her students."

“The Housing Division has engaged ioda over many years to provide support for managers to resolve intractable issues in their teams. They have never failed to find a solution. They can provide different approaches in order to seek resolution. Managers have always found the interventions productive and team members are also positive in their feedback even when the conversations have been direct. Those involved benefit from the underlying coaching approach. We have also used ioda’s coaching and mentoring service to develop new managers.”

"I have recently completed a CMI Level 6 Qualification in Leadership and Management, focusing on the elements of Equality and Diversity. This was delivered in partnership by Inclusive Employers and ioda, both succeeding in delivering an enjoyable and highly paced content for the programme. ioda trainer Lisa offered pragmatic guidance and advice throughout, using current topics to weave into the subjects and thereby offering relevance to the workplace and explore some emerging issues. Being relatively new to this style of learning, I found the support offered by Lisa and the other trainers and presenters invaluable which made the whole experience hugely valuable."
Thank you once again for making learning so enjoyable

"I found ioda’s approach warm, professional and pragmatic and I would be pleased to recommend them and Lisa.
It had the winning combination of knowledge of how to lead equality and diversity and understanding of the tools needed to understand specific organisational cultural challenges in applying that leadership.
Lisa is an excellent trainer whose sense of humour and natural ability to connect puts people at ease. She is highly knowledgeable and brings a balanced and realistic, rather than overly politically correct, approach. Her clear commitment to her own continuous development in a fast-moving field was also invaluable."
