When we started we knew we wanted to be different; to deliver training and services that truly were exceptional. We wanted to take training into a world where delegates had an out-of-seat experience without leaving the training room. To do this we also knew that if ioda was to be no ordinary training company and not provide the same ordinary training courses; then we had to attract extraordinary people with exceptional skills. People who would bring our training to life in a way that you’ve never experienced before. We know we achieved or goal because our clients are not only impressed, but they ask us back for more.

From small beginnings, we have now grown into a renowned training and development organisation with experience across all sectors in the United Kingdom and internationally,

ioda originated as a partnership in 1995 and gradually developed into a limited company in 1997 with a business plan of becoming the premier training and consultancy organisation within the UK public sector based in our main office in North Yorkshire. We are proud to have celebrated over 20 years of delivering outstanding services to our customers, clients and delegates.

We started primarily within the Fire and Police Services and gradually grew into one of the premiere providers within the Public Sector nationally. Within the UK, our clients are over 80 Local Authorities, 35 Police Services, 30 Fire Services, and a wide variety private, audit and inspection organisations. On the international scene we have worked on behalf of the Department for International Development (DfID) in Sudan, India, Rwanda and the Balkan States delivering leadership & management development programmes and several Human Rights related projects.

We are also accredited centres with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) and EdExcel allowing us to offer appropriate accreditation for many of our leadership and management courses. These are always ‘real world’ and pragmatic while being academically underpinned and rigorously assessed. We have retained Investors in People status since 1999. In addition, we are an inactive accreditation centre for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

In November 2017, one of our key clients, Barnsley MBC won the prestigious IIP Excellence in Leadership & Management Award of the Year. The criteria for this award included design, content, delivery and partnership working between ioda and Barnsley Council. We are very proud of our clients achievements in gaining this impressive award.
