Our management and leadership programmes offer the opportunity for individuals or teams to learn simple, yet effective techniques which are seamlessly blended with equality, diversity and community inclusion.

Our experience of developing management and leadership programmes that support learning outcomes of our awarding partners ensures that, if required, the lesson plans and accompanying materials can be designed to meet the requirements of the selected awarding body.  These dovetail with our client organisations bespoke needs to ensure a successful outcome on their behalf.

Over the last 15 years we have delivered accredited training to over 5,000 students, using bespoke materials designed by us and approved by awarding bodies. In each programme, we have developed action learning materials with outcomes and assessment criteria.  To support these we also develop our own comprehensive support booklets for each subject that examine all key theories, models and content for that element of the programme.

Flip Coaching is the blending of hard earned experience with willing self-discovery; creating a dynamic and effective approach that ensures staff develop their true potential at the maximum speed. The power of coaching as a successful development tool has long been recognised by individuals and businesses alike. And while this still holds to be true, in today’s world where efficiency and effectiveness go hand in hand with value for money, there are occasions where we cannot wait for individual to learn in their own time; flip coaching meets that need.

Our skilled coaches are also experienced managers and leaders who know that while facilitating self-discovery is crucial, there are also times when an individual doesn’t have the knowledge, skills or answer no matter how hard they try. It is in these challenging moments that our coaches ‘flip’ across into a management tutor style and provide objective advice and guidance before ‘flipping back into the role of coach and facilitator. Increased efficiency and value for money can be achieved through skilled and effective budget management. This is an area that is even more crucial in today’s current economic climate and requires managers to have the knowledge and skills to ensure goals and objectives are achieved through Value for Money principles. At ioda we don’t deliver accountancy training rather we develop practical financial management skills for non-finance managers.

Dispelling myths around managing finance and enabling participants to use their budgets in an effective and efficient manner creates empowered and confident managers who use finance to facilitate progress. Whether new budget holders or those experienced managers who have ‘picked it up along the way’; our approach ensures they appreciate the importance of setting and monitoring budgets and how they can influence organisational success.

The Dignity in Care Campaign launched in 2006 created considerable change throughout the care network placing dignity and respect at the heart of care services in the UK. The National Dignity Council supports these initiatives to improve the client experiences when engaging with individuals and organisations that deliver care packages. Ioda courses are the most up to date in content and delivery style ensuring real and relevant training for care deliverers.

Our short courses are a great way to train larger groups of staff quickly and effectively at your place of work by our expert trainers. Most of our short courses are tailored to your needs and last half a day, so we can deliver two training sessions back-to-back in one day if required demonstrating great value for money. The ioda course is developed bespoke to your organisation integrated with best practice guidelines written by the National Dignity Council and Skills for Care. We know that sometimes it’s the small things that make the biggest difference; having time to discuss and explore critical issues can make those crucial changes that you have been looking for in your care setting ensuring dignity is at the heart of everything you do.

ioda International -  Social Justice and Police Reform

What we offer

ioda International specialises in sustainable justice sector development in complex and post-conflict environments where we offer a unique package of services to the local, national and international client. We have on-site UK service capabilities and resources that can be drawn from as needed with all our personnel. Our team of consultants  and practitioners are policing and justice professionals that are fully qualified and experienced for their role. 

We bring together experience in the fields of management, leadership, international engagement, social development advice, community safety, and access to justice, human rights, cultural diversity and academia.

Where we work

Our team work closely with the justice professional, be they senior manager or line officer, to identify their needs and set realistic objectives, jointly mapping out a path to build capacity and achieve organisational goals.

Since our founding, ioda International has provided support for justice agencies in Africa, Asia and Europe and developed products to meet the growing needs of justice professionals world-wide. Our team has worked extensively in Rwanda, India, Turkey, the Maldives, the Balkan States, The Sudan and South Sudan.

What we do

Irrespective of the focus, method of delivery, or location of development assistance, ioda is able to identify and manage the critical crosscutting issues that must be addressed throughout the programme or project. This service includes good governance, gender equality, other diversity issues, human rights, social capital and environmental sustainability.

We are able to provide national or local police services with the required level of support to assess develop and improve their service delivery. We do this through the development of skills, systems and processes, including core Policing skills. Depending on the stage of the police reform process, we can assist specialist operational units or the entire agency with the development and roll out of democratic policing initiatives.

In post conflict or civil disturbance environments, ioda is able to develop appropriate, conflict-sensitive project strategies to effectively monitor the impact of conflict and/or civil unrest on development policies.

We use change management techniques to develop people in the general justice reform field together with strategic personnel at senior and ministry level. This process aids reform by enhancing the knowledge and experience of justice professionals. Short training bursts provide a foundation for practical implementation, followed by mentoring and monitoring support with a clear and robust process to demonstrate return on investment.
