CBC had undergone a significant period of change since their creation as a Unitary Authority in 2009. They were in the process of developing a new Organisational Development Plan to ensure they met the needs of their residents taking into account the continuous challenge of financial constraints and changing environment. To help achieve this aim they decided to implement a leadership and management development programme for middle and senior managers.
Following discussions at the CMT level, the L&D leads had developed an outline programme which we developed into a 10 day five module LMDP which would blend with the current training delivery as well as providing innovative, interactive and experiential delivery methods such as action learning sets, e-learning, coaching, mentoring. In addition, the programme was to be aligned with the ILM Level 5 certificate for those delegates who wished to undertake the accredited route.
We delivered a successful programme to 12 cohorts and some 150 managers. As a result of the success of this programme we then developed and delivered a management programme for first line managers also accredited through the ILM. We also deliver group webinar sessions to support the drive for increased and effective performance management.
